Microwave Development Labs Celebrates 75 Years, 1948-2023

June 5, 2023 – Microwave Development Labs (MDL), the world leader in waveguide components and the largest independent producer of waveguide components and subassemblies in the microwave industry, celebrates its 75th year in business.

Reaching its 75th year in business, company president Gordon P. Riblet said:
“We’ve made our share of waveguide parts at frequencies through 18 GHz and now we are looking to higher frequencies as such applications as 5G/6G, military & aerospace”. Riblet noted that the company has always been a leader in performance, producing high-performance components with low loss, excellent VSWR, and high power-handling capabilities, adding:

“For the first 75 years, we applied the latest test and software tools to quickly develop customers’ specialized requirements, no matter how challenging. For the next 75 years, we hope to continue to be a leader in waveguide performance and technology, helping to pave the way for system-level advances in military/aerospace, 5G/6G, and satellite communications (satcom) applications.”

Microwave Development Laboratories Receives ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100D Certifications

December 28, 2021 – Microwave Development Labs (MDL), the largest independent producer of waveguide and subassemblies in the microwave industry, has received ISO (International Organization for Standardization) 9001:2015 and Aerospace Standard 9100D certifications following completion of an extensive quality system evaluation.

High reliability and quality is MDL’s trademark. The certifications are in full support of MDL’s commitment to quality management system standards and processes in the design, fabrication, and testing of precision waveguide components and waveguide assemblies. All MDL products undergo 100% functional performance verification as required per ISO 9001:2015 and AS 9100D.

ISO 9001 is a quality management standard that helps service providers and companies meet customer satisfaction standards, work more efficiently, and enhance quality control processes.

Aerospace Standard 9100D (AS9100) is the standard covering a Quality Management Systems within the aerospace industry.

The official certificate can be viewed on the MDL website.

WEBINAR: 3D Aluminum Metal Additive Manufacturing Infiltrates the Microwave Component Industry.

11:00 – 11:30 PM EST, SEPTEMBER 11, 2019
Three-dimensional (3D) aluminum metal printing provides a means of producing RF/microwave passive components and component parts. Metal printed parts replace traditional “subtractive” and casting manufacturing methods. Three different microwave components will be examined. We will compare two additive manufactured parts traditionally manufactured as cast parts. We will also compare one additive manufactured part traditionally manufactured using the subtractive manufacturing method. Comparisons will include measured mechanical and electrical characteristics.
